Collection Overview

This is a copy of the subject card index to the inactive series of photographs taken for the N.C. Department of Conservation and Development (now the Department of Natural and Economic Resources). The index provides reference service for the thousands of pictures added to the Travel Information Division photograph file between 1937 and 1949. It gives subject, number and description of all the photographs in the series.

The orginal index is kept by the Travel Development photographer. In order to provide access to the Conservation and Development photographs in Archives custody, the index was microfilmed. The microfilm copy (Reel Number S.29.7) is available upon request in the Archives Search Room.
