Collection Overview

The stereographs in this collection contain views of Stokes County,
North Carolina during the late Nineteenth or early Twentieth century. One
stereograph shows the Piedmont Springs Hotel in Stokes County, N.C.; a Richmond
and Danville Railroad boxcar appears in the foreground. The second stereograph
depicts a landscape with a river, possibly the Dan River, in the background. A
railroad depot located near Danbury, N.C. appears in the photograph. The third
stereograph contains a view of a windmill, barns, and other farm structures
against a background of forests and mountains in Stokes County, N.C. All stereographs are 4.2 inches x 7.4 inches.
